Drishtee MIRI Market is an initiative by Drishtee Foundation to connect with our valued consumers on a digital platform and share with them the products made & designed by women beneficiaries associated with various CSR Projects supported by our valued partners in India and overseas.
Drishtee, in partnership with PNB MetLife, started this flagship Project “Sakhi Swavlamban” in 2018 in rural villages of Kashi Vidyapeeth Block of Varanasi District (Uttar Pradesh). Since then, the journey has been consistently widening its reach across villages, making the rural women Self-dependent and taking them out from the vicious cycle of poverty.
Initially the women were trained in sewing and stitching and later on provided expert training to hone their skills in Kurti, Stole, Placemat making, etc. We are in the third year and have started building in components of business continuity so that the programme becomes self-sustainable in the long run.
The micro enterprise groups who are currently involved in 5 Value Chains of Textile, Dairy Products, Spices, Vegetables, Bamboo products etc. have shown high level of enthusiasm, energy and vision.

An Integrated model of, Skill development and Market Connect for Sustainable impact on Self-reliance of the community through Local Livelihoods & enterprise development.
The NPO, Drishtee Foundation was established in 2003 for ensuring that the developmental and deeper community aspects are taken into account, while designing sustainable business models.
Swavlamban is a community led Integrated village development approach of Drishtee to enhance local livelihood opportunities and access to basic services, within the community. It focuses on building sustainable, interdependence-based economic and social solutions that empower the community stakeholders to achieve self-reliance and shared prosperity.
Drishtee offers an integrated platform of 4Cs – Community (connect), Capacity (development), Capital (facilitation) & Channel (accessibility) for enabling sustainable rural enterprises and livelihoods based on rural value chains of Food (Agriculture), Clothing (Textile) and Housing, harnessing the potential of local skills, resources and capacity.
Swavlamban is response to rural and urban needs through Skill & Capacity Development. It is focused on 3 verticals – Roti (Agriculture) – Kapda (Textile) – Makaan (Housing and Furnishing)
This approach helps the village women in developing economic models to enable livelihoods and enterprises and offers MIRI (Made In Rural India) platform for registrations of women as a producer in the Udyogi Family and initializing their journey of Swavlamban.
It helps creating opportunity for Vaibhavi, i.e., MEG (Micro-Enterprise Group) development with local Input and Output value chains. It identifies possible Training Coordination and Delivery Points as Franchisees in rural areas Develop training capacity based on Online LMS and the empanelment of trainers as well as Content as per standard guidelines.
Value chain products included in our producers list can be categorised as: Food Processing, Fresh Farm Items, Animal products, Packed Foods, Spices, Stitched Apparel, Ornamental Apparel, Handloom Fabric – Spinning & weaving, Carpentry – Home Furnishings, Low cost and economic Housing needs and Gardening. For now, only non-perishable items are available on sale at this site.
